CALCUTTA RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. The Calcutta raffle will be held at the Wheeling Park District on October, 27, starting at 7:00 pm.   For the safety of all participants and club members, the event will be live-streamed on the club’s Youtube Channel.
  2. This raffle is conducted by the Rotary Club of Wheeling, who regularly meets every Friday at 12:15 pm.  Members are invested in serving the Wheeling, IL community.  The Rotary Club of Wheeling is a non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and as defined by the State of Illinois. All proceeds, less expenses, will benefit the 2021-2022 service projects of the club, including granting education scholarships for local students, supporting community organizations with their strategic goals and projects,  and assisting community organizations with emergency funds, to name but a few.
  3. The raffle will be conducted from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm with tickets available for purchase online through 3:00 p.m., October 26, 2021.
  4. Tickets will be sold at $100 per ticket. The odds of winning are dependent on the number of valid entries.  Multiple individuals may contribute to the purchase of one ticket, but only one ticket will be entered to the raffle.  Individuals may, and are encouraged to, purchase more than ticket.
  5. Purchasers of tickets must write their name, address, phone number and email address (if applicable) on the online form (or physical purchase form if mailing or dropping off the form and payment).
  6. If more than one name is listed on the online or physical purchase form, the first name listed first shall be considered the “entrant.” The Club shall, will, and can have no obligation for delivery of any prize to any person other than the entrant.
  7. Minors may not purchase or have their names identified as the main entrants. Payment for the tickets shall be made in “good money” which may be check or credit/debit card.  Checks should be made payable to “Rotary Club of Wheeling.” If any purchaser’s check is dishonored by the bank, the raffle ticket will be declared invalid unless and until full payment in “good money” is made prior to the drawing.  All purchases are final and no refunds will be issued.
  8. Winners need not be present to win. Winners will be contacted immediately after the drawing.
  9. Winners agree to allow use of their name or likeness for publicity purposes without compensation.
  10. Prize to be given away in the raffle is 50% of all proceeds, up to $5000.
  11. Winners must present the raffle ticket number when claiming their prize, and provide one form of picture identification.  Winners must complete and sign an IRS Form 5754, which requires a social security number or tax ID number. Delivery of the prize shall be made solely to the entrant based on providing the raffle ticket receipt, picture identification, and, when required, a social security number/tax ID number and completion of a W-9.
  12. Winners are subject to all Federal and State tax regulations and payment of any taxes is the sole responsibility of each winner. The Club will file reports pertaining to the prize to the applicable federal and state taxing authorities including, but not limited to, IRS Form W- 2G.
  13. If the winner cannot be reached at the phone number, email address or mailing address on the ticket stub for any reason by November 10, 2021 , a disqualification will result, and second-place winner will be awarded the prize.
  14. Members of the club and their families, at their discretion, may participate in the raffle.
  15. The decision by Club’s president and the board shall be final on all matters concerning the raffle.
